Privacy Policy
Beyond Words will hold and process personal data in accordance with the Data Protection Act, the General Data Protection Regulation (EU2016/679) and any other applicable laws or regulations.
Having entered into a contract for the purchase and sale of books or the procurement and provision of services, we have a legitimate interest in holding personal data on our database. However, we will only hold the minimum required data: the individual’s name, address, organisational affiliation (where relevant), email and telephone number.
We respect your privacy and we will never sell, rent or exchange your details with any outside organisation. It is our policy to ensure that our systems and records are secure and not accessible to unauthorised 3rd parties. We only transfer the minimum required data to our software and fulfilment partners and we take steps to ensure that they are also GDPR compliant.
We would like to maintain contact with our customers and other partners in the learning disability field, and to share newsletters, information on upcoming events or book launches. We will not do this without your agreement, via an “opt in” facility. An individual has the right to opt out or unsubscribe from these communications at any time.
Individuals also have the right to request that their data be removed from our database and that of our processors and fulfilment partners.
You have the right to ask to see what data we hold on you via a Subject Access Request (SAR) and you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you have any concerns with the data held or the way we are handling it.
